Connecting the Dots Conclusion
After three or four weeks of journaling on these same key words, you will find that you move into deeper layers, perhaps even going back into childhood memories. Continue the journaling using the same words. Follow the words deep within yourself. Continue to read and review your entire journal.
Eventually, you will see patterns arise–where in your life you continue to repeat the same issue over and over; where in your childhood these issues began; why you hold onto these issues that are not now in your best interest.
You will be amazed at how deep these few key words can take you. Allowing yourself to focus in this way helps you connect the dots through the years. You begin to recognize the interconnectedness of events in ways that perhaps were hidden from you before.
Once you identify your patterns, you have awareness. It is that awareness that allows you to change the patterns, thus changing the direction of your life. It is easy to blame outside forces for life circumstances, but the bottom line remains—it is always the strength and power of your mind-pattern that draws your life experiences to you.
