LOL @ you 2 together and joking about semen all the way to the end. I never heard the expression bits and bobs. I’m surprised they didn’t joke that he showed his crown jewels.
    .
Last month my brother in law was down the shore in Ocean City, Maryland (east coast resort town) fishing off the pier, not a far walk from the rental house. He was also planning on swimming so he didn’t bring his wallet, hence, no I.D. He got ticketed for fishing off the wrong pier. The ranger also gave him a hard time for not having his license on him. My brother in law asked – why would I bring my license if I walked here and planned on swimming? The ranger stammered a little and said he would ticket him next time if he didn’t have proper identification and that he should always carry it. Pretty soon they’ll make it mandatory for us to carry I.D. even if we take a walk around the neighborhood.

“Bits and bobs” just means small things.

When issuing a summons, as in the case of your brother-in-law for illegally fishing, a cop wants to make sure he is issuing the ticket to the correct person. That’s why they ask for ID. Actually, a summons is in lieu of arrest, and the Ranger could have hand-cuffed and taken your brother-in-law into the station house until he could be properly identified and issued a summons. So, if you’re planning on committing a summonable violation it may be a good idea to have ID on you. It’s nothing new, it’s always been that way. It’s not like it’s some new post-911 restriction.

I understand the concept of an officer/ranger wanting to make sure he had a legitimate person to ticket. My brother in law did offer to walk back to the house to get his I.D. He also was not aware there was no fishing allowed on that particular pier – no sign was posted. He did not intentionally go out to commit a summonable violation and I’m not sure how many people leave their home thinking that they might be doing something that is punishable anyway. The point of the post is that they are starting to expect you to carry identification even if you are only a few hundred feet from your home.

As a female who carries a purse, it can be quite freeing not to have to carry my purse if I am with someone else who is driving and I know I’m not going to be purchasing anything. Purse stays home. Why not? …I guess we are in the process of figuring this one out.

The Swiss media also reported several times about the Iraki-British family. In the first report, the whole thing was a “total mystery”, a day later the father’s employment with the technology company was mentioned, and that “he was just an accountant, not privy of any secrets”. The following day, the same – name of the company, and that of course there was no connection between the murders and the head of the family’s job. Accountant?? Well, you said it, Stewart, he was an engineer. Also, I don’t think the survival of the children was an accident. They are now deeply traumatized and more than ready for more programming input.
