Hollow Weenies

Well, that’s how I feel about the coming Halloween “festivities” which was originally designed in the Middle Ages to scare away evil spirits before All Saint’s Day. It has changed significantly over the centuries.

Only in the US has it become such a massive ordeal. I think it is the worst day of the year. It is positively rude to have obnoxious children ringing your doorbell constantly asking for treats. What is the purpose of that? I don’t ring their doorbells asking for anything!

When I lived in New York, males who were in their 20s would come by as late as midnight going trick or treating. Absolutely absurd. Mostly, they were drunk and loud. It was just an excuse to do mischief. There was a time when many children were attacked on the streets at Halloween and also received poisoned candies and fruits. Why would a decent parent allow their minor children to go out on a cold night alone and ask strangers for sweets? Bizarre!

Plus, the costumes! Dressing up to look like dead people, astral entities, demons, ghouls etc…..why is that fun? Trying to look like someone or something that is evil and kills people makes no sense at all. Why would a parent help their child to do that?

A celebration of death and destruction and committing bad deeds should not be allowed. In my opinion, Halloween should be abolished. It has degenerated into something that it should not be. Hmmm…reminds me of politics and Hollywood!

At least here in St. Joseph, Trick or Treating is only allowed for 90 minutes in the early evening. So, I am relieved by that much consideration. However, I work a lot and do not feel like answering my doorbell all the time, even for that short period of time.

Some of you may think that I am being overly harsh about it. But, when you consider the ritualistic programming aspects of all of this, you can hopefully understand that this so-called holiday is bad news.

Well at least I don’t think you are being overly harsh. Not at all! Could not have said it better myself. You go Swerdlow!!! Halloween is getting more ‘celebrated’ in other countries though, Norway and others. What’s next!?

Here in Edmonton annoyance starts usually from 7 till 10 pm. Depends on weather condition.

I started hating Halloween when I became a cop. Every Halloween, rushing back and forth, answering calls on roving gangs of teenagers vandalizing shops with baseball bats, smashing shop windows and stealing property, demon-masked young men robbing, and/or attacking people with eggs, and other unpleasant things. Halloween does nothing but bring the worst out of people. Not to mention, all that candy is bad for your teeth.

Halloween is ridiculous. It shows just how childish and warped americans have become.

It is the perfect excuse for women to dress up like whores as well.

It certainly is a spell cast on this country for much dark purposes.

And now we have this 7 billion people mark curiously applied to Oct. 31st this year.

Any occult numerology attached to this number “7″ billion on halloween? Maybe a ritual for an upcoming event?

Has anyone considered that CHRISTMAS may be even worse?! Fat Satan (Santa) in a red suit enters our homes for treats and to give gifts to those who are nice. It has become a completely materialistic holiday which I loathe because people are incredibly stressed out with the increased traffic, bills, visiting relatives, fancy food, millions of trees sarificed, and so on…

      That’s my least favorite holiday.
Thanks-giving is more ethical, practical, and non-religious.

Victoria, you said everything I was thinking! Halloween isn’t too bad since it’s one night, you put up a few decorations, turn off your light if you don’t want to participate and move on. Christmas is the worst! Holiday music is already playing, commercials are coming soon. I hate Christmas. Seems like you can’t escape it, and get sucked in. I remember working retail at the mall when I was young. So many people were rude and stressed out. I’d see people fighting over parking spots at the overcrowded parking lots. People are pressured into over spending on a bunch of useless stuff! I feel the pressure as a parent. I HATE Christmas more than anything! It lasts an entire month, ugh! And not to mention, it’s cold, and the days are so short, depressing. I wish I could hibernate now until Jan 2nd.

    Hi,
We dont have halloween here. This -All Saint day on the 1st of November is very quiet and tribute day where people go to cemetary and put flowers and burn candles to remember lost people with priest who gives the mass to the all dead people. Traffic around this date is impossible to get to cemetary. Not officially, but even fun music not allowed to play in bars or places, only clssical or something like that music. There is saying that on this day, only one day allowed, all dead people’s souls allowed to come back on the Earth. After this one day they must to come back. Some souls do not leave and people must clean house with candles flame. But the most interesting and a little funny is Russian tradition to celebrate-tribute All Saint day. Small example I give from my own experience. I live in Lithuania and there live many russians too. So,the cemetary is also mixed. I was burning candles on my fathers grave and next to it was russian grave where people were standing and even sitting. They put food on the grave and glass of vodka. And of course they drink vodka there. This is how they celebrate. They brought vodka to me “pomianut umershyh” I was chocked, but back then, i did not know how they celebrate. This is a little from another part of the world.

those little brats might get more than they bargained for, ringing Stewart’s doorbell one too many times just may spark an anger which turns him into a mad werewolf growling and ripping with his claws trying to get through the door at the little kids.. huffing and snarling as they all run away crying while he rips through the door and howls at the full moon.. never to bother him again. it would make for one fascinating urban legend, and would add to the Michigan dog-man’s reputation too.

Stewart, i’m sure the Violet Ultimate Protection will work great to repel the critters! :)

Interesting story is when I was at the pub, someone nearby was smoking and the smoke was wafting right in my face (I don’t smoke), so I concentrated on keeping a violet barrier around me. The smoke deflected away in the opposite direction! I had to keep focus though in real time which was not easy. With continous practise it should get better.

Interesting comments. I think it’s fun to see the kids dress up in cute costumes but I totally agree it’s annoying to have your doorbell rung over and over. I think that whole practice should be outlawed and the festivities should be reserved for parties hosted by responsible parents. More like a fun costume event. That way the kids can have fun and not end up dead from “bad” candy. And the doorbell ringing can stop…

I only take my kids to the mall for a bit and then we get dinner. More like a bonding thing. Not sure why a parent would let their kid approach a stranger’s home on their own!

Just the right amount of harshness for this absurd holiday Stew! The whole foods in my area had pumpkins and decorations of dead thibgs. One mother wad speaking to her child, ” oh look, this pumpkin has noodles and a knife sticking out.” A KNIFE?! like, what are these parents thinking?!?

In Poland, its same as VAlentina mentionned(probably with the vodka too lol!), we go the cemetaries, clean up, light candles and pray for people who have passed. I actually arrived in Canada a few days prior to haloween, the candy was nice, walking around in a giant Barnie suit without knowing the meaning of ‘trick or treat, not so nice. :P

Last year there were kids who didn’t even bother to dress up in costume. A couple went into our local dairy(small neighbourhood store) and straight out asked for sweets in the trick or treat fashion. How rude! These dairy owners only make a thin profit at the best of times. Obviously a culture of entitlement has developed. I remember back twenty years ago we NEVER had halloween in this country (NZ) so if you dressed up you would literially be standing on your own like a freak. It is the constant programming via American sitcoms and movies that has seeded halloween into the conciousness of this country. Two decades and this is the result *spits on ground in disgust*

AND DON’T GET ME STARTED on the flimsy costumes that are sold here. They look like what they are – cheap (but they aren’t priced cheap) Chinese scraps of fabric that without a discription most people would struggle to guess what the “costume” actually was. What a waste of earth’s resources.

Also take note, In the mind of the parents it seems to bring people together, and it is this they are so desperate of that they ignore the fact that their son/daughter looks like a murderer or demon.

just some other things I have read and Know about Halloween .It is a wiccan/celtic/Druidic power piont of the year callender ,it is know as Samhain.I have heard it is where the ethers become thin and contact with the dead is more posible. On David Ickes site he said that the Druids would go around to peoples doors and sell protection spells to the people from evil spirits ,(I guess the treat),if you did not except the druids would cast a bad spell on you (the trick),hense that is where trick or treat came from and All saints day/Halloween came from the Samhain festival.I read from another place that before pumpkins were used as latterns large turnips were used as latterns in the U.K maybe Ireland to scare away witches.Later on the early white settlers of America took the tradition with them and found pumpkins a much better size.Pumpkins are like wombs so that has sexual magic ,birthing ritual uses.Something like that ,I don’t know how much is chinese wispers.

I echo what everyone else is saying and agree totally with Stewart. Because I love the RV lifestyle, I’m going to comment on the sad fact that many campgrounds have carried the Halloween theme to extremes. Camping is supposed to be ‘Good, Clean, Fun’! It is not any of those with scenes of gory massacres that terrorize campers past midnight, haunted trails where bloody corpses jump out of bushes, and ax murderers parade through creepy sets. This is not a positive camping experience. I urge KOA and other campgrounds to work on making less graphic, less evil-oriented Halloween experiences, or better yet, abandon it all!

It seems like the costumes get weirder and weirder. I think it’s fun for the kids to play and pretend in costumes, but not anything that idolizes violence or an evil entity. I don’t see the fun in that. I say, turn it around on the PTB. Use the time to hang out and talk with your kids about things that are important.

I spend lots of time with my kids, but they tend to remember the times around holidays more. Just my opinion and observation.

I would just like to say yes all of you are pointing out the bad side of Halloween. The part where people(teenagers and immature adaults) can play the part of what the corporate media subconsciously program them to do.
I ask you do you not remember the good parts of Hollowe’en? Being a kid carving a pumpkin going around to peoples houses and them giving you candy, chips, tootsie rolls, and other goodies. Dressing up for fun! Not everyone dresses up as the “dead” or the “ungodly”. Not all little girls dress up like whores. Do they? They dress up like princesses! Don’t they? Little boys? What do the like to dress up as??? Superheros!!!! All of you should be ashamed of being so negative!!! Aparantly you guys put up the negativity colour protection and not the positivity colour allowance!!!! You should be ashamed of forgetting your innocence!!!!
