    We made the decision to sell our home of 31 years in Los Angeles in 2005. We got a tidy sum for it and were able pay cash for a new home in southern Nevada that was smaller and very efficient. Now we find half of our neighbors moved here from Los Angeles also.
    Strangely we found our next door neighbor was the brother of a long time business associate and the neighbor on the other side had a partner on the LAPD who was our neighbor in LA.

      Just goes to show how like attracts like and similar mind-patterns come together. There are no such things as “coincidences”!

        There are 14,000 residents here in our community which is age restricted to 55 and older. I have never met such an interesting and diverse group of people and am greatly enjoy enjoying it.

    But not everyone wants to move where people are nearby. I’d prefer no neighbours – I don’t mind a good morning or how are you doing chatter but that’s it. I prefer the quiet and solitude of isolated properties, but here in the UK such places are so expensive and are mostly out of the pocket for the majority; sadly.

      So, there is a reason you are close to people. Use it for your learning and then perhaps something else will open up after you have learned the reasons why you are there.     In the US, you have so much space as the majority of your homes are detached with double garages long driveways and are mostly very beautiful looking homes – I wish I moved to the US 25yrs ago.
