Jonathan J. Swerdlow, Swerdlow Ministries Youth Leader
Jonathan is working on a number of human-centric projects in art and the humanities. In Iceland, he has established numerous groups centered around this, ranging from reading and writing groups to an artist collective.
Jonathan is asking for funding to cover expenses and further develop the communities he is actively building. The ultimate goal is to establish such groups around the world under a broader network, thus giving space for individuals to express themselves regardless of who they are or where they’re from.

The currently planned projects are:
1. Documenting the life and culture of everyday people
Exploring towns and cities, putting together a documentary collection of photos and stories of the people
Diving into the art scene, documenting the behind-the-scenes world of artists
The gear required for this project includes:
- Camera
- Lens
- Printer
- Paper
- Ink
2. Gallery/creative workspace & workshop
- Hosting community events such as poetry readings, interest groups, etc.
- Hosting a lecture series
- Hosting workshops such as creative writing, photography, project management, etc.
- A space to exhibit and showcase the work of the community
The following expenses are involved:
- Space rental
- Supplies & materials
3. Publishing the works of artists and writers from around the world
- Creating and publishing books of poetry/prose/stories/art from the international community
This project entails the following expenses:
- Book development
- Publishing/printing & distribution
4. Monthly Stipend to support living and traveling expenses
